Deville's Parakeet

Pyrrhura devillei

Deville's Parakeet (Pyrrhura devillei) is a small parrot species found in the Atlantic Forest of Brazil. It has a predominantly green plumage with red on the forehead, throat, and thighs. The species is known for its playful and social nature, often forming flocks and communicating through various vocalizations. These parakeets primarily feed on fruits, seeds, and flowers, and they play a vital role in seed dispersal within their habitat. Due to habitat loss and trapping for the pet trade, the population of Deville's Parakeet is declining, leading to its classification as Near Threatened by the IUCN.
