Diard's Trogon

Harpactes diardii

Diard's Trogon (Harpactes diardii) is a medium-sized bird found in the forests of Southeast Asia. It has a distinctive appearance with a bright red belly, green upperparts, and a black and white striped tail. The male has a yellow bill and the female has a blue bill. This trogon species is known for its unique call, a series of soft, low hoots. Diard's Trogon primarily feeds on insects and small fruits, and it nests in tree cavities. Due to habitat loss and fragmentation, this species faces threats to its population. Conservation efforts are crucial to ensure the survival of the Diard's Trogon.
