Palmeria dolei
The Dole's Thornbill (Palmeria dolei) is a small passerine bird native to the woodlands and forests of eastern Australia. It is characterized by its olive-brown upperparts, pale underparts, and distinctive black streaking on the throat and breast. This species is known for its energetic foraging behavior, often flitting through the foliage in search of insects and nectar. Dole's Thornbills are highly adaptable and can be found in a variety of wooded habitats, including eucalypt forests, heathlands, and gardens. While not currently considered threatened, habitat loss and fragmentation pose potential risks to their populations.
