Dot-fronted Woodpecker, Veniliornis frontalis, is a woodpecker of South America, breeding from Bolivia to north-west Argentina. It is a member of the family Picidae and was described by Cabanis in 1883. Its range lies on the eastern side of the Andes, where it occurs in dry montane woodland, humid forest, and the belt between those habitats. It can be found up to 2,000 m, though it is usually lower down. Outside the breeding season it tends to move to lower elevations.
