Harpagus bidentatus (Latham, 1790)

Double-toothed Kite, Harpagus bidentatus, is a bird of prey in the family Accipitridae and breeds from Mexico through Middle America into South America, reaching south-east Brazil. It is a forest bird, most often in mature subtropical and tropical woodland, and is less often seen along edges, in clearings, secondary growth, scrubby woodland and disturbed forest. Its name comes from the notches on the bill edge. Adults show a dark grey head, a white throat marked by a central dark line, lighter grey upperparts, a blackish tail with three grey bands and a grey tip, red eyes, a greenish yellow cere and yellow legs.
