Dupont's Lark
Chersophilus duponti (Vieillot, 1824)

Dupont's Lark, Chersophilus duponti, breeds in northern Africa and Spain and belongs to the lark family, Alaudidae. It is a resident bird and is associated with chaparral, as well as open sandy semi-desert and steppe with some grass. The species was described by Vieillot in 1824. In Spain it has shown a marked decline, with losses recorded between 2008 and 2018. Its nest is built on the ground, and three or four eggs are laid. It feeds on seeds and insects.
