Dupont's lark

Chersophilus duponti

Dupont's lark (Chersophilus duponti) is a small, secretive bird species found in the steppes and semi-deserts of southern Europe and North Africa. This elusive lark is known for its distinctive song, which is often delivered from a low perch or during aerial displays. With its cryptic plumage and shy behavior, Dupont's lark is a challenging species to observe in the wild. It primarily feeds on seeds and insects, foraging on the ground in open grassland habitats. Conservation efforts are focused on preserving its specialized habitat and managing threats such as habitat degradation and agricultural intensification.
