Dusky-billed Parrotlet, Forpus modestus, is a parrot of Amazonia in South America and belongs to the Psittacidae family. It was described by Cabanis in 1849. Its range is tied to the Amazon rainforest, where it occurs in lowland tropical forest edges, openings, river margins, secondary growth and savanna, and it also uses seasonally flooded woodland. It is found below 1,000 metres above sea level. One subspecies is recognised, Forpus modestus sclateri.
