Dusky-capped Flycatcher

Myiarchus tuberculifer

The Dusky-capped Flycatcher is a small to medium-sized bird found in Mexico and Central America. It is known for its distinctive dusky cap and olive-green upperparts. The underparts are pale yellow with a tinge of olive. This species is often found in open woodlands, forest edges, and second growth habitats. It is an insectivorous bird, often perching in the mid-story or canopy to sally out and catch flying insects. The Dusky-capped Flycatcher is known for its distinctive call, a sharp 'whit' or 'wheep' sound. Although not currently considered threatened, habitat loss and deforestation pose potential threats to its populations.
