Psarocolius atrovirens

The Dusky-green Oropendola is a striking bird found in the forests of South America. This species is known for its distinctive long tail and bright yellow bill. The males have glossy black plumage with iridescent green and purple tones, while the females are more subdued in coloration. These social birds are often seen in large, noisy colonies, building their distinctive hanging nests in the treetops. They are omnivorous, feeding on fruits, insects, and small vertebrates.
