Dusky Purpletuft, Iodopleura fusca, is a passerine in the Tityridae family that breeds in eastern Venezuela, the Guianas and north-eastern Brazil. It was first described by Vieillot in 1817. This is a small forest bird with long wings, a short tail and a broad bill that ends in a hook. It lives in the canopy and along forest edges, and is found in humid woodland up to 500 m. The sexes are very similar, though males carry a small violet tuft on the upper flank while females have a white one.
