Colluricincla obscura

Dusky Robin, Colluricincla obscura, is a bird of New Guinea, where it occurs on Yapen. It is also part of the wider Australian and New Guinean bird fauna. Its natural home is in moist lowland forest and moist montane forest in tropical and subtropical areas. The species belongs to the shrikethrush group and is one of the forms placed in Colluricincla. In studies of bird toxicity, one specimen was found to contain traces of batrachotoxins similar to those recorded in poison dart frogs from Central and South America.
