Dusky Thrush

Turdus eunomus

The Dusky Thrush (Turdus eunomus) is a medium-sized migratory bird found in East Asia. It has a distinctive dusky brown plumage with a pale belly and a spotted breast. During the breeding season, the male Dusky Thrush develops a striking black breast band. These thrushes are known for their melodious and flute-like songs, often heard in their forested habitats. They prefer to inhabit dense woodlands, parks, and gardens with ample vegetation for foraging. Dusky Thrushes are known to migrate over long distances, wintering in Japan and Korea. Their conservation status is currently listed as Least Concern by the IUCN.
