Turdus naumanni
The Dusky Thrush (Turdus naumanni) is a medium-sized songbird found in East Asia. It has a distinctive dark plumage with a pale belly and a spotted breast. This thrush species is known for its melodious and varied song, often heard in its preferred woodland and forest habitats. Dusky Thrushes are migratory birds, breeding in the taiga and tundra of Siberia and northern China, and wintering in Japan, Korea, and parts of China. They are often seen foraging on the ground for insects, berries, and seeds. The Dusky Thrush is a relatively common species, but its breeding and wintering grounds are threatened by habitat loss and degradation.
