Dusky Thrush

Turdus eremita

The Dusky Thrush (Turdus eunomus) is a medium-sized songbird found in East Asia. It has a distinctive dusky brown plumage with a pale belly and a subtle speckled pattern on the chest. This thrush is known for its melodious and flute-like song, often heard in its forested habitats. It is a migratory species, breeding in the taiga and mixed forests of Siberia and northern China, and wintering in Japan and Korea. Dusky Thrushes forage for insects, berries, and seeds on the forest floor, using their sharp eyesight to locate prey. While their populations are currently stable, they face threats from habitat loss and climate change.
