Dusky Turtle Dove

The Dusky Turtle Dove (Streptopelia lugens) is a small, migratory bird species found in parts of Africa and the Middle East. It is characterized by its overall dusky gray plumage, with a distinctive black collar on the nape and a pale grey underside. These doves are often found in open woodlands, savannas, and agricultural areas, where they forage for seeds, grains, and small insects. They are known for their gentle cooing calls and are often seen in pairs or small flocks. The Dusky Turtle Dove is not currently considered to be at risk, and its populations are generally stable throughout its range.
