Dusky Turtle Dove, Streptopelia lugens, is a pigeon in the family Columbidae that breeds in Africa and the Palearctic, from South Sudan and Ethiopia south to Malawi, and also in Saudi Arabia and Yemen. It is a dark dove with a grey face that is a little lighter than the rest of the body, black markings on the sides of the neck, and wing feathers edged in pale brown or rufous. The eye is orange or orange-yellow with a purplish ring, the bill is purplish slate-grey, and the legs are red.
