Microhierax erythrogenys

The Dwarf Falcon, scientifically known as Microhierax erythrogenys, is a small bird of prey found in Southeast Asia. It is known for its distinctive black and white plumage, with a rufous patch on the nape and a black streak through the eye. This species is often found in open woodland, savanna, and grassland habitats, where it preys on insects, small birds, and lizards. The Dwarf Falcon is an agile hunter, often seen perched on exposed branches or power lines, scanning the ground for prey. Despite its small size, it is a fierce and efficient predator, using its speed and agility to capture its prey. This species is currently listed as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List.
