Eared Pitta, Hydrornis phayrei, is a bird of the Pittidae family that breeds in the Oriental Region, from south-east Myanmar and southern China to northern Vietnam and southern Cambodia. It lives in moist lowland forest and moist montane forest. The adult plumage is entirely cryptic, which sets it apart from other pittas. Males and females differ in plumage, and the young are also cryptically marked. The species was described by Blyth in 1862.
