Eared Pygmy Tyrant, Myiornis auricularis, is a passerine of the Atlantic Forest in south-eastern South America, breeding in eastern Brazil, eastern Paraguay and north-eastern Argentina. It is a very small tyrant flycatcher with a striking face pattern, and the two sexes look alike. The nominate form has pale buff ear coverts with a dark crescent behind them and a black mark below the eye, while the other subspecies usually shows paler ear coverts. It lives in dense growth at humid forest edges, and sometimes in the forest interior or nearby trees in open ground.
