Eastern Bearded Greenbul, Criniger chloronotus, is a bulbul in the family Pycnonotidae that occurs in south-eastern Nigeria, Central African Republic, Congo, extreme north-western Angola and north-eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo. It was first described by Cassin in 1859. Its range stretches across these parts of Africa, and it is placed in the order Passeriformes. The bird was once assigned to the genus Hypsipetes, and some authorities formerly treated it as the same species as the western bearded greenbul. It is also known by several alternative names, including bearded bulbul and Congo bulbul.
