Psittaculidae — Old World Parrots

Eastern Bluebonnet, Northiella haematogaster, is an Australian parrot breeding in south-eastern and south-central Australia. It is one of the two birds placed in Northiella and belongs to the Old World Parrots. It lives mainly in the inland parts of its range, where semi-arid country suits it well, though it also occurs in areas with moderate rainfall towards the eastern and southern edges of its distribution. It was first described by Gould in 1838.
