Eastern Spot-billed Duck

Anas zonorhyncha

The Eastern Spot-billed Duck is a medium-sized dabbling duck found in East Asia. It has a distinctive spotted bill and a mottled brown plumage. These ducks are often found in freshwater wetlands, paddy fields, and marshes, where they feed on aquatic plants, seeds, and small invertebrates. They are known for their loud quacking calls and are often seen in large flocks during the non-breeding season. The Eastern Spot-billed Duck is not considered globally threatened, but habitat loss and hunting pressure in some areas are potential concerns for their populations.
