The Eclectus Parrot, scientifically known as Eclectus roratus, is a strikingly colorful parrot species native to the rainforests of Australia, New Guinea, and nearby islands. These parrots are known for their striking sexual dimorphism, with the males displaying bright green plumage and the females exhibiting vibrant red and purple feathers. Eclectus Parrots are highly social birds, often found in pairs or small flocks, and are known for their exceptional vocal abilities. They primarily feed on fruits, nuts, and seeds, and are important seed dispersers in their native habitats. Due to habitat loss and trapping for the pet trade, the conservation status of the Eclectus Parrot is currently classified as Vulnerable by the IUCN.
