Ecuadorian Cacique, Cacicus sclateri, is a passerine of the family Icteridae that breeds in Ecuador and Peru. It lives in moist lowland forest, including woodland beside rivers and várzea forest, and is recorded up to 400 m. The bird is mainly black, with a whitish, long pointed bill and a blue iris in adults, while juveniles have brown eyes. It is set apart from similar caciques by its smaller size than the solitary cacique and by the red-rumped cacique’s visible rump patch in flight.
