Megascops petersoni
The Ecuadorian Screech Owl (Megascops petersoni) is a small owl species found in the cloud forests of Ecuador. It is known for its distinctive hooting call that echoes through the dense vegetation at night. This owl has a compact body, large head, and prominent ear tufts. Its plumage is mottled brown and gray, providing excellent camouflage against tree bark.
