Ecuadorian Tyrannulet Phylloscartes gualaquizae is a passerine of the tyrant flycatcher family that breeds in South America, in southern Colombia, Ecuador and northern Peru. It lives in humid montane forest, where it is usually found in the canopy and along forest edges. The species has a disjunct range, with one population running down the eastern Andean slope through much of Ecuador and slightly into north-western Peru, and another in the upper Mayo River valley near the border of San Martín and Amazonas in Peru. It was first described by Sclater in 1887.
