Edward's pheasant

Lophura edwardsi

Edward's pheasant is a large, colorful bird native to the montane forests of Vietnam. Males are adorned with vibrant blue and green plumage, while females have more subdued brown feathers. These pheasants are known for their distinctive calls and elaborate courtship displays during the breeding season. They forage on the forest floor for seeds, fruits, and insects. Habitat loss and hunting have led to a decline in their population, and they are currently considered vulnerable according to the IUCN Red List.
