Elegant Scops Owl

The Elegant Scops Owl (Otus elegans) is a small, nocturnal bird of prey found in the forests and woodlands of Southeast Asia. This owl is known for its distinctive large, bright orange eyes and mottled brown and grey plumage, providing excellent camouflage against tree bark. It primarily feeds on insects, small mammals, and birds. The Elegant Scops Owl is a solitary and elusive species, often heard but rarely seen due to its nocturnal habits. Its haunting hooting call is a characteristic sound of the forest at night.
