Struthidea cinerea
The Emu (Struthidea cinerea) is the largest bird native to Australia and the second-largest bird in the world by height, after the ostrich. Emus are flightless birds with long necks and legs, and can reach up to 6.2 feet in height. They are known for their curious and inquisitive nature, often found in open woodlands, savannas, and grasslands. Emus are omnivorous, feeding on a variety of plants and insects. They are also known for their distinctive booming call during the breeding season. Emus are well adapted to their arid and semi-arid habitats and are capable of traveling long distances in search of food and water.
