Esmeraldas Antbird, Sipia nigricauda, is a passerine of the antbird family found in western Colombia and western Ecuador. It lives on the Pacific slope, mainly in wet evergreen forest and nearby mature secondary growth in foothills, especially where ravines, slopes, landslip regrowth and tree-fall gaps provide thick cover. It is a monotypic species. The bird was first described in 1892 by Salvin and Godman, and its taxonomic history has included several changes before it was placed in Sipia. It is believed to remain in the same area throughout the year.
