Ethiopian Oriole, Oriolus monacha, is a bird of montane Eritrea and Ethiopia in Africa, where it breeds in dry forest. It belongs to the family Oriolidae and was described by Gmelin in 1789. Two subspecies are recognised: Oriolus monacha meneliki in southern Ethiopia, and Oriolus monacha monacha in northern Ethiopia and Eritrea. It is also known as the dark-headed or black-headed forest oriole, and as the Abyssinian oriole.
