Eurasian Blue Tit, Cyanistes caeruleus, is a passerine in the tit family, Paridae, found in the western and central Palearctic. It is a resident breeder across temperate and subarctic Europe and parts of western Asia, and it lives in deciduous or mixed woodland, often where oak is prominent. It is a small bird, and its blue and yellow plumage makes it easy to identify. It usually nests in tree holes and will also use nest boxes when needed. Its main competitors for nest sites and food are great tits.
