Eurasian Collared Dove, Streptopelia decaocto, is a dove of the Palearctic and Oriental regions, breeding from western Europe to India, eastern China and the Korean Peninsula. It is a medium-sized bird with grey-buff to pinkish-grey plumage, darker above than below, and a black half-collar edged with white on the nape. The bill is black and the legs are red. The iris is red, though the eye can look dark at a distance, and juveniles show a weaker collar and a brown iris. It is not migratory, but it has spread widely beyond its original range.
