Eurasian Jay

Garrulus glandarius (Linnaeus, 1758)

Eurasian Jay Garrulus glandarius is a passerine in the crow family, breeding across the Palearctic and Oriental Region, including north-west Africa. It is a woodland bird with a very wide range that stretches from western Europe through the Indian subcontinent to the eastern edge of Asia and into south-east Asia. Across this span, several regional forms have developed, and the birds at the far ends of the range can look quite different from one another.
