Eurasian Jay

Garrulus glandarius

The Eurasian Jay is a colorful and intelligent bird found in woodlands, parks, and gardens across Europe and Asia. Known for its striking blue, black, and white plumage, this medium-sized bird is recognized for its harsh screeching calls and acrobatic flight. The Eurasian Jay is an opportunistic omnivore, feeding on a wide variety of foods including insects, small mammals, fruits, and nuts. It is known for its habit of caching food for later use, helping to sustain it through the winter months. Despite being adaptable to various habitats, deforestation and habitat loss pose threats to its populations in some regions.
