Eurasian Teal

The Eurasian Teal, also known as the common teal, is a small dabbling duck found in temperate and subarctic regions of Europe, Asia, and North Africa. It is known for its distinctive greenish patch on the side of the head, and the male has a chestnut-colored head and a spotted grey body. These ducks prefer freshwater habitats such as marshes, ponds, and wetlands, where they feed on seeds, aquatic plants, and small invertebrates. They are often seen in flocks during migration and winter. The Eurasian Teal is not considered globally threatened and is classified as Least Concern by the IUCN.
