Eurasian Wren, Troglodytes troglodytes, is a passerine of the wren family that breeds widely across the Palearctic. It is the only wren family member found in the Old World, with a range that includes Europe and stretches through Asia to Japan, and it also occurs in Eurasia and Africa, including the Maghreb. The bird is very small, with a very short tail often carried upright, a short neck and a relatively long thin bill. Its upperparts are russet brown, the underparts paler buff-brown, and the plumage is finely barred darker, with a cream buff supercilium. The sexes look alike.
