Everett's Scops Owl, Otus everetti, is an owl of the eastern and southern Philippines, recorded from Bohol, Leyte, Samar, Mindanao and Basilan. It belongs to the family Strigidae and was described by Tweeddale in 1879. A member of the Philippine scops owl complex, it was separated from related forms after genetic work. It is set apart by its darker plumage, darker facial tones and deeper orange eyes. It inhabits tropical moist lowland forest and the lower montane zone, and nests in tree hollows in Philippine lowland forests.
