Eversmann's Redstart

Phoenicurus erythronotus (Eversmann, 1841)

Eversmann's Redstart is a bird of the mountains of central Asia, where it breeds in forest and woodland across the Palearctic. It is one of the larger redstarts, and the male in breeding plumage is marked by a black face, a grey crown and nape, and rufous upperparts and tail. The wings are dark with white patches, and the underparts are mostly rufous with some white below. Females are greyer and browner, with a rufous tail, pale eye-ring and buff wingbars.
