Eye-ringed Tody-Tyrant

Hemitriccus orbitatus

The Eye-ringed Tody-Tyrant (Hemitriccus orbitatus) is a small, insectivorous bird found in the humid forests of South America. This species is known for its distinctive eye-ring and olive-green plumage. It has a short, straight bill and a relatively long tail. The Eye-ringed Tody-Tyrant forages for insects by gleaning them from foliage or catching them in mid-air. It is often observed in the lower levels of the forest, where it flits about in search of prey. This species is known for its high-pitched, insect-like vocalizations. The Eye-ringed Tody-Tyrant is not currently considered to be at risk, and its population is believed to be stable.
