Fairy Prion, Pachyptila turtur, breeds on islets in the Southern Ocean, from the Falkland Islands to outlying New Zealand islands. It is a small seabird of the petrel family and is found in low subtropical to subantarctic seas. Its upperparts are blue-grey, with a dark M-shaped pattern reaching the wing tips, while the underparts are white. The tail is wedge-shaped and dark-tipped. The bill is pale blue, and the legs and feet are blue. The sexes look the same.
