Fan-tailed Berrypecker, Melanocharis versteri, is a bird of montane New Guinea in the family Melanocharitidae. It occurs in subtropical or tropical moist montane forest. The female is both larger and darker than the male, which is unusual among passerines. Described by Finsch in 1876, it belongs to the order Passeriformes and is one of the berrypeckers and longbills.
