Fan-tailed Grassbird, Catriscus brevirostris, is a passerine in the Locustellidae family and breeds widely across Africa. It occurs in a scattered pattern across the continent, including countries such as Angola, Cameroon, Kenya, South Africa and Zimbabwe. It is found in grassy places with grasses, sedges or shrubs close to water, including streams, rivers and lakes, and it ranges from 350 to 2,150 m. It is also known as the broad-tailed warbler, and has been linked with the broad-tailed grassbird of India, though a 2018 study did not support a close relationship.
