Basileuterus lachrymosus

The Fan-tailed Warbler is a small Neotropical songbird found in the highlands of Costa Rica and western Panama. It is characterized by its olive-green upperparts, yellow underparts, and distinctive fan-shaped tail. This species is often found in dense undergrowth and forest edges, where it forages for insects and small invertebrates. The Fan-tailed Warbler is known for its melodious and varied song, which it uses to communicate and defend its territory. While not currently considered at risk, its habitat is threatened by deforestation and habitat degradation.
