Fawn-breasted Whistler

Fawn-breasted Whistler, Pachycephala orpheus, is a bird of the family Pachycephalidae found in the Lesser Sundas, including Rote, Timor, Jaco, Atauro, Wetar, Romang, Leti and Moa. It was described by Jardine in 1849. The species is linked with moist lowland forest and mangrove forest, and it also occurs in mountainous country to about 1200 metres. Three subspecies are recognised across these islands: orpheus, par and compar. It is also known as the Sunda Whistler and the Timor Whistler.
