Amazona festiva (Linnaeus, 1758)
Festive Amazon, Amazona festiva, is a parrot of South America, breeding in eastern Colombia to Guyana and across western Amazonia. It lives in forest and woodland close to large rivers, with Várzea forest especially noted, and it is also recorded in coastal mangroves in Amapá. Two subspecies are recognised. The race bodini has more red on the forecrown and more blue on the face than the nominate form. In flight, both show deep blue outer wings and a red rump, though young birds have a reduced rump patch.
