Festive Parrot

Amazona festiva

The Festive Parrot (Amazona festiva) is a colorful parrot species found in South America. These medium-sized parrots are known for their vibrant plumage, which includes shades of green, red, and blue. They are highly social birds and are often found in flocks, particularly in forested areas. Festive Parrots are known for their playful and energetic nature, often engaging in acrobatic displays and vocalizations. They primarily feed on fruits, seeds, and nuts, and are important seed dispersers in their ecosystems. Unfortunately, due to habitat loss and capture for the pet trade, the conservation status of the Festive Parrot is currently listed as Vulnerable by the IUCN.
