Fiery-necked Nightjar, Caprimulgus pectoralis, is a nightjar found in western, southern, south-eastern and south-central Africa. It belongs to the family Caprimulgidae and was described by Cuvier in 1816. It is most often associated with woodland savannas and other deciduous woodlands. Its common name comes from the tawny collar that sets it apart. The species breeds after the dry season and usually lays two clutches, with two eggs in each clutch.
