Pyrrhura egregia
The Fiery-shouldered Conure, scientifically known as Pyrrhura egregia, is a small parrot native to the Atlantic Forest of Brazil. These vibrant birds are characterized by their fiery red shoulders, green plumage, and a distinctive blue crown. They are social and intelligent birds, often found in flocks, and are known for their playful and curious nature. Fiery-shouldered Conures primarily feed on fruits, seeds, and vegetation, and are important seed dispersers in their native habitat. Due to habitat loss and trapping for the pet trade, their populations are declining, and they are listed as Near Threatened by the IUCN.
