Its melodious and varied song can be heard throughout its range. The Fimbriated Flycatcher is a migratory species, breeding in the northern parts of its range and wintering in the southern regions. Despite facing habitat loss and fragmentation, it is currently categorized as Least Concern by the IUCN due to its widespread distribution and stable population.
